The German European American Society of Virginia was founded in October 1971 with the goal of preserving and promoting German culture, heritage, and customs.
Our entertainment for the year normally consists of a New Year’s Party, pot luck suppers, Fasching, Oktoberfest dinner and dance, Winefest, and a Christmas party. Outside events include picnics, pool parties, day trips to interesting sites, and various other functions of interest to the membership.
In April 2008, several of our members participated in the Jamestown celebration of 400 Years of Germans in America.
